VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE/CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OHIO)
The University of Rio Grande seeks a Vice President for Finance/Chief Financial Officer to join a transformational team of leaders and trustees in implementing the aggressive and visionary goals of its recently completed ten-year strategic plan, Decade of Dreams. The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is a unique partnership between a public community college and a four-year comprehensive university. The CFO serves the university. Deeply rooted in Appalachian history, both institutions are committed to encouraging lifelong learning, personal and professional growth, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and effective written and oral communication skills to students from the southeastern Ohio area, the state, the nation and the world. The campus of the university and community college is nestled in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio, and is adjacent to the original Bob Evans Farms and Homestead in Rio Grande. QUALIFICATIONS: • The Vice President for Finance/CFO will be financial leader with appropriate financial credentials and significant administrative experience in higher education –a minimum of 8-10 years of increasingly responsible experience in business operations. • The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree, and a CPA preferred. • The individual will show demonstrated experience in a complex organization in which s/he provided both leadership and willingness to “roll up his/her sleeves” to get the work done. • Knowledge and a proven track record in private higher education desirable. • Experience in planning collaboratively with other administrators on all financial aid and other costs while increasing enrollment and retention. • Ability to work closely with trustees in building both administrative and governance oversight of finances. • Strong communication skills, demonstrating a track record in leading and training budget managers in all areas of responsible financial management. • Experience in dorm oversight and auxiliary partnerships to maximize the financial income from those operations. • Commitment to students, and a deep understanding of the needs of a residential liberal arts institution. Knowledge of community colleges is a preferred qualification to strengthen the partnership with Rio Grande Community College.
Special Skills • Demonstrated involvement over time with national organizations and initiatives such as NACUBO, SCUP and others.
