The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to providing the best possible service to all members of the GW community. The office maintains academic records from enrollment through graduation and offers a wide range of services in the areas of classroom scheduling, enrollment verification, registration, requirements tracking, transcripts, and degree conferral. We support the university's mission to promote lifelong learning by administering the various academic policies of the university and providing support to students, faculty, administrators, and alumni.
The Office of the Registrar is searching for a full-time Senior Records Coordinator, Degree Audit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performs other duties as assigned.
In collaboration with other professionals within the department, develops and participates in workshops, seminars, training programs for Banner student system users campus-wide as well as departmental staff members in the various degree audit related processes and procedures.,
Programs and tests for accuracy degree requirements within the degree audit tool. Implements processes, procedures, and systems to maintain degree audit software.,
Assists Associate and Assistant Registrars to clearly identify the academic requirements for each program of study. Assists with the review of all rules with each new academic year to ensure accuracy; rewriting rules as necessary to conform to current business practices.,
Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.,
Enters into the degree audit software all approved exceptions to standard rules.
The incumbent generally performs job duties in a normal business office environment. This involves working while sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. The job also includes significant event planning and execution, which requires a significant level of physical activity, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting office supply items that may weigh up to 20 pounds. Additionally, the incumbent may be required to attend meetings in other offices, or deliver and/or retrieve information from other offices around campus.
The ability to operate basic office equipment such as personal computers, duplicating machines, fax machines and standard office telephones may also be required.
Experience with student information systems, preferably Ellucian Banner
Strong computer proficiency, especially with a degree audit system (Degree Works preferred)
Customer service experience, especially with an assertive clientele
Experience with academic programs or academic records
Have an understanding of registrar functions and FERPA
Problem solving ability
High school diploma/GED, or equivalent combination of training and experience, is necessary plus 1.5 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
