Degree Audit Business Analyst - Registrar's Office-2011770
Carnegie Mellon University's Registrar's Office is searching for a Degree Audit Business Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the continued implementation of the University's new degree audit application. Working under the direction of the Senior Systems Analyst, you will be engaged in all phases of the project including testing and quality assurance, trouble-shooting and data analysis, information gathering and development of training materials and user documentation.
Specifically, data inconsistencies or business concerns will be identified, reported, tracked and resolved in a timely manner according to the project schedules. You will write a variety of project documents including use-cases, problem statements, test cases and scripts, training and user documentation. By partnering with end users of the academic audit system, CMU's student system developers, and external software helpdesk staff, you will work to streamline and improve services to students, faculty and advisors, using innovative new technology.
This position is a benefit eligible, fixed-term position based on project need with an expected duration of at least one year.
Core responsibilities will include:
Provide implementation, maintenance and development support for the Stellic degree audit application. Create, edit and develop program curricular requirements with academic units. Test software and resolve problems as they occur. Enhance the use of and development of reports, as well as develop training materials and sessions.
Propose solutions to system-related problems and issues, which may involve frequent communication and close user collaboration with other system analysts or engineers to assess and identify probable conflicts and investigating diverse data elements and sources.
Modify and test applications, maintain, edit and update current degree audits, including troubleshooting, fixing bugs and improving functionality. Work as part of a team developing program specifications and writes program documentation or may work independently on routine assignments applicable to the system.
Employ a variety of communication skills to work cross-functionally and successfully with internal and external colleagues. Seek out and share relevant information. Orient user personnel to new or changed procedures. May demonstrate project prototypes/demos to a variety of users.
Develop and distribute agendas and other materials in advance of meetings. Deliver informative, well-organized updates. Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the information distributed. Represent the University Registrar and Enrollment Services, as needed, at various functions in supporting and promoting the degree audit application.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Information Science, or related field required; combination of training and experience may be considered.
Minimum one year of administrative experience, information analysis, or reporting required; experience in higher education, specifically enrollment services or institutional research preferred.
Knowledge of student privacy standards and practices including the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) highly desired.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
