The Office of Human Resources at University of Wisconsin- La Crosse seeks applications for a Compliance and Audit Specialist. This position is responsible for the continuous review and audit of payroll and employment data. The position is responsible for ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity of the payroll and employment data in the various HR Information Systems used by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
This position will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis to identify systemic (organizational, processes, and systems) problems/issues. The Human Resources Compliance and Audit Specialist will assist in the coordination of documenting results of audits and preparing reports for approval by the Assistant Director.
This position will routinely perform analysis of data in the various online tracking systems; identify systematic issues within HR systems; compile metrics and reports from tracking systems; and track accomplishments.
This position will compile and report on goals aligned with the University’s annual goals and requirements.
The position will respond to any internal or external request for auditing and control data as directed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Financial Management, Accounting, or related field
Three to five years of financial analysis, budget monitoring, justification, and budget execution experience.
The successful candidate must have a sensitivity to detail and a penchant for reading and understanding complex compliance related policies or procedures.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong acumen for business vernacular.
The successful candidate must present evidence of past success in complex and difficult conversations and communication styles.
Candidate must possess a strong ethical sense, global and cultural awareness, and expertise in building/strengthening existing relationships.
Demonstrated experience using Office 365, enterprise resource systems, (PeopleSoft preferred).
Excellent skills in designing and utilizing spreadsheets to report and ensure data quality and integrity.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to utilize reporting software (Business Intelligence and BP Logix preferred)
CPAor other Financial Accounting designation
Candidate has a broad understanding of University operations inclusive of faculty and staff relations.
