The Transfer Credit and Degree Audit Specialist supports the Office of the Registrar in activities related to degree auditing and transfer credit evaluation. Reporting to the Associate Registrar, this part time, 12- month position has primary responsibility for degree audits and transfer credit evaluation for the traditional student population. She/he must be proficient on the College’s academic policies and procedures, as well as curriculum and programs of study. The incumbent will routinely interact with students and faculty as well as staff and advisors from various offices across campus including, but not limited to, Admission and Advising & Academic Success. This position works a Monday through Friday, 25 hour per week schedule.
Degree audits/graduation tracking:
Performs degree audits and tracks progress toward graduation for traditional student population;
Makes necessary curriculum updates in CAPP degree audit system, including individual student adjustments;
Communicates with students and advisors in matters related to degree completion and requirements;
Maintains accurate lists of expected graduates and Commencement participants;
Updates Banner student system with changes to student graduation dates and Commencement participation status;
Reviews graduate information in Commencement program and communicates necessary edits;
Determines graduation honors and makes updates in Banner system;
Compiles thrice-yearly diploma order for traditional population.
Transfer credit evaluations:
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of transfer credit evaluations for traditional student population;
Corresponds with students and advisors on matters related to transfer credit;
Communicates with Admission and Advising & Student Success on status of transfer evaluations, addresses questions and troubleshoots concerns;
Assists with posting of transfer credits to student records in Banner system;
Reviews student requests to transfer courses from other colleges;
Communicates with faculty to determine and confirm transfer course equivalencies;
Makes necessary updates to course equivalencies in transfer credit database and performs regular review of database for accuracy.
Support of College/Registrar events:
Represents the Registrar’s Office at Commencement Fair and Commencement rehearsal and ceremony;
May assist with other College events upon request.
Supports daily Registrar’s Office operations as needed, including addressing telephone inquiries and processing course registrations and transcript requests;
Provides support and acts as backup to the Degree Audit & Transfer Credit Specialist for the Continuing Education population.
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ related experience in a higher education setting, preferably in the Registrar’s Office;
Familiarity with FERPA and College policies and procedures;
Ability to work some weekends in support of College events.
Proficiency with Banner Student System and CAPP degree audit system a plus.
At the College’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the college, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
