Minimum Hiring Standards:
Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field from an accredited institution.
At least 10 years of financial aid or closely relevant experience with progressive supervisory responsibility in a 4-year institution. (Ideal candidate will have previous years of experience at the Associate Director level or above in a financial aid office.)
Experience with supervision and development of professional staff.
The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience at the management level, including direct responsibility for oversight of a department including the development of strategies and processes at a 4-year institution with diverse student populations.
Experience with using and, preferably implementing, student information systems.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Hiring Standards:
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study.
Advanced prior experience with Banner SIS and any associated linked system interfaces.
Ability to make an immediate impact on operational processes to best serve the needs of the students.
