Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois invites applications for the position of Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance (IVPFA). The Interim Vice President reports directly to the President and provides vision, leadership and administrative oversight for a department that encompasses the following: financial services, plant operations (including capital project management), purchasing, insurance and risk management, human resources, and auxiliary services (college store, post office, food service, vending and conference services). A key member of the leadership team, the Interim Vice President is responsible, within prescribed policy, for the management of financial accounting and reporting, long-range planning and managing the College's assets, debt, the College farms (as directed by the Board of Trustees) and capital projects and budgeting. One of the key liaisons with the Board of Trustees, the I.V.P.A.F. advises the Board on the full range of policy, strategy and operations matters. The IVPAF will join the Blackburn College community on or before April 15, 2020 and is anticipated to serve through at least December, 2020 as Blackburn searches for its next president, anticipated to begin in July 2020.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in financial administration and management. Candidates with experience in higher education and who demonstrate an understanding of the distinctive nature of an evolving mix of liberal arts and professional programs are encouraged to apply; however, candidates from other areas of financial management will be given full consideration. The new IVPAF will have a proven track record of strategic decision-making and leadership as well as knowledge of facilities planning and management, debt management and budget development and management. A collaborative person of integrity with the ability to communicate with the Board, colleagues across the college, and external constituents is critical. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master?s degree in a related field and/or a CPA.
