Loyola Marymount University’s Department of Auxiliary and Business Services has an opening for a full-time Director of Strategic Sourcing and Campus Business Services. Reporting to the Senior Director for Auxiliary and Business Services, this position leads the development and implementation of the university’s product and service sourcing strategy and directs the operation of the Campus Business Services (OneCard) Office.
The Director will lead the development and implementation of sourcing/procurement initiatives to deliver high value, best-in-class procurement strategies. This position will assist in developing a roadmap for transformation of the end-to-end procurement and supply chain process in a currently decentralized procurement environment. Additionally, the Director will provide guidance to campus departments for sourcing products and services that meet their needs in terms of cost and quality, while also ensuring that products are ethically sourced. The Director is also responsible for managing the daily operations of the Strategic Sourcing and Campus Business Services Office, which includes services related to the campus OneCard and its associated declining balance accounts (eg. meal plans).
We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Minimum 5 years of successful experience in strategic sourcing and purchasing. Higher education or non-profit experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in management and direction of a department or medium size staff. Proven ability to develop and lead strategic sourcing strategies and initiatives to deliver significant business impact. Demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of operating, capital budget processes and accepted accounting procedures is required. Demonstrated ability to administer bid processes, RFQs, and RFPs. Strong negotiating skills. Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrated computer competency in Microsoft Office Suite (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project and Visio).
