Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Director for Budget and Financial Planning.
Salary based on experience and qualifications: $70,000 - $78,500
Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and five years of progressively responsible financial management experience OR a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and progressively responsible financial management experience.
Data analytics, analysis, and research skills and the proven ability to develop creative approaches to complex financial issues.
Project management skills and the ability to work under the pressure of strict periodic deadlines.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university strongly preferred.
A degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or related discipline.
Experience with developing and implementing operating budgets in a higher education environment, and related policy development and implementation.
Capacity to advocate and lead change related to business and budget operations to ensure that operations are efficient, effective, contemporary and compliant.
Experience providing information and analysis needed to support executive decisions.
An understanding of emerging technologies and their applications and implications to university decision information and support systems.
An understanding of revenue and expense trends and longer-term resource issues in higher education.
Demonstrated leadership skills in higher education or related environment.
Experience using an enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or similar software.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor the annual operating budget.
Monitor revenues and expenditures during the fiscal year and coordinate budget activities.
Review, analyze, evaluate, and recommend long and short-range budget plans.
Analyze financial data to draw insights to assist in institutional decisions and strategies.
Provide forecasting, projecting and financial modeling to aid leadership in assessing financial performance, as well as assessing strategic initiatives and opportunities.
Prepare, analyze, and interpret reports of division/department financial conditions.
Assist in the development of fiscal policies and financial plans.
Create and maintain dashboards to monitor financial benchmarks.
Partner with Human Resource Services to develop a strong position control system.
Assist departments across campus in developing solid budgeting skills in alignment with College objectives.
Work with executive leadership and other units in developing the requests for and implementing the results of student fee increase proposals.
Prepare and submit reports pertaining to requirements relating to budget matters and financial data.
Supervise and assist in the development of staff.
Develop effective working/leadership relationships with the President and Vice-Presidents, and other campus leaders and coordinate efforts with the Office of Instructional Research and Effectiveness to support the alignment of assessment and budget in the budget process.
