Vice President of Finance and Administration

Under the leadership of the President, Transylvainia University seeks an accomplished and dynamic leader to serve as the Vice Predent of Finance and Administration. The Vice President serves on the executive cabinet and is responsible for the appropriate operation of the physical plant, finance and accounting, information technology, campus safety, purchasing, telecommunication, human resources, financial aid, food service, bookstore and all other related services. The VP of Finance and Administration also safeguards financial and physical assets and provides direction in strategic planning and goals accomlishment for areas of responsibility. The Vice President of Finance and Administration provides coordination and supervision of the operating, furniture and equipment, technology budgets and physical plant projects. The position ensures that appropriate internal controls and procedures are used for cash management, accounting records, internal financial reporting, aid awards to students and all other financial and economic transactions and functions. In addition, this role provides appropriate physical assets to carry on the University’s mission, and minimizes risks for those assets through maintenance, planning, replacement and insurance. Provides external reporting of the University’s financial and economic condition and results of operation and external funding from grants, gifts and contracts. The VP Finance and Administration manages the University’s debt to provide short-term working capital and for long-term physical projects in the most economically advantageous methods. Addtionally, provides measures to avoid risks for students, employees, visitors, contractors and physical, financial and intellectual property through planning, inspection, insurance and legal counsel.
