Senior Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Houston Community College System (HCCS) --- a unified system of academic college education, career and technical education, adult education, distance learning, customized business / industry instruction with on-site workforce training to advance the business community, and international educational partnerships --- is seeking a Vice Chancellor Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer for this expansive college system with 23 operating locations and 4.5 million square feet of space. The chosen leader will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service. Reporting to the Chancellor and serving as a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, the chosen executive will provide effective administration and operational management of HCCS to achieve strategic objectives. This position serves as the Chief Financial Officer and will provide executive leadership and supervision of the finance and administration functions of the System. Select candidates will discover an environment where professional satisfaction and career The successful candidate will hold executive acumen to provide leadership through the System’s offices and coordinate the finance and administration functions within the institution through the departments reporting to this position; be sensitive to the needs of the community, with willingness to participate in community programs and activities that the college is supporting or in partnership with in an effort to ensure strategic plans and budgets are in line with established goals and objectives; work with community, business, educational, and other organizations to improve the educational and financial well-being of the community; bring an ability to develop long-term operating strategies to fund enrollment growth, educational programs, and facilities; have the ability to develop and manage human resources, including policy and organizational development; possess skill and experience to collaborate with other members of the executive team to develop and advance a positive brand and image of the college in the community; have the ability to assist the Chancellor in strategic planning and implementation of institutional goals and have a leadership presence and executive skill to support the Chancellor in implementing and communicating the institution’s overall vision, mission, goals, and strategies. Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field is required. A doctorate is preferred. CPA is preferred. Twelve years of experience at a senior or executive level management position is required. Higher education or public-agency administration experience is preferred.
