  • Prepares monthly summary of financial statements and other reports for presentation to the Foundation's Finance Committee, Investment Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Tracks the Foundation's investment manager performance. Serves as primary liaison between the Foundation and its investment consultants and managers. Invests all new cash received by the Foundation in accordance with the asset allocation policy and completes all investment rebalancing for the Foundation.
  • Develops and tracks the Foundation's monthly and annual operating budget. Provides the Board of Directors with recommendations on how to distribute annual investment earnings/losses. Assists in obtaining financing for projects funded by the Foundation.
  • Oversees the integration and implementation of new technologies for the Foundation. Develops reports for the Board of Directors and the University regarding Foundation account balances. Provides training on use of PeopleSoft budgeting functions.
  • Reviews and completes all contracts and agreements for new investment managers, consultants, and/or custodians. Communicates quarterly investment performance results to the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, and various Directors.
  • Oversees the annual Foundation audit with regards to investment related disclosures. Sends confirmations to investment managers, banks, and any other financial institutions. Develops Request for Proposals (RFPs), resolutions, and educational PowerPoint presentations.
  • Completes NACUBO Survey and Common Fund Endowment Study on behalf of the University and the FIU foundation on an annual basis as well as any other ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Provides assistance in the development and implementation of all procedures for the FIU Foundation.
  • Interprets policies and procedures applicable to the area of responsibility.
  • Develops fiscal policies and procedures in accordance with University and external auditing guidelines.
  • Develops and monitors systems for cash flow projections, analyzes
  • revenues and expenses, and reconciles monthly budget documents for the Foundation and other Direct Support Organizations.
  • Maintains contact with the Board of Directors on an occasional basis. Has extensive contact with University administrators, investment consultants, investment custodians, and investment management firms.
  • Oversees the deposit of Foundation funds, which may amount to several million dollars annually. Oversees all investment accounts. Coordinates the sale of donated securities on behalf of the Foundation.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive data on donors, individuals, and corporations.
  • Initiates wires related to the Management & Advanced Research Center (MARC) on a monthly basis. Initiates or confirms other wires as instructed or needed.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.

 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience or Master's degree and five (5) years of related experience.
