The applications specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining Anthology and SLATE systems utilized by the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Engagement (DEMSE).
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

Job Responsibilities and Execution
Serves as the technical point of contact for all Anthology and SLATE related functions
Assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities
Supports system upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects
Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation
Provides support and training for new employees and system users, staying abreast of trends in training materials and techniques
Responds to user inquiries regarding system functionality
Maintains awareness of Anthology and SLATE trends and developments, with a focus on new products
Recommends processes and improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations for discussion with leadership
Provides support for Anthology and SLATE systems including, but not limited to, researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process flaws
Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Models, supports and holds others accountable to the university’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity and teamwork
Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration
Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate upgrades or fixes
Serves as a liaison with third parties and other stakeholders
Participates in user group meetings and conferences
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Experience with Anthology or SLATE preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Strong understanding of departmental processes and data, including eligibility requirements, enrollment rules and benefit procedures, in order to ensure correct implementation
Strong understanding of database design, structure functions and processes
Experience with databases tools
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.
