Position overview: Responsible for the operations of the Office of Financial Services
Essential job functions: Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Provide leadership to the Office of Financial Services including the supervision of the Senior Accountant, Senior Accountant - Budget and Accounts Payable, and Accountant.
Provide and plan for training and development of all supervisory positions.
Lead the preparation, maintenance, and retention of University financial records.
Lead the preparation and review of all financial activities of the University including quarterly financial reports, budget, and the annual audits in accordance with established timelines.
Prepare/review annual financial statements and disclosures, supplemental information, and regulatory filings.
Responsible for cash management and cash forecasting for the University.
Manage various treasury functions for the University.
Lead the annual audits of the University’s financial statements, and Single Audit (A-133),
Supervise and implement financial control procedures for the University.
Supervise the preparation of federal and state tax returns and reports.
Supervise monthly and annual reconciliation of unrestricted, temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted gift revenue with Office of University Advancement records.
Provide accounting support and guidance to the campus community.
Review and approve drawdown of federal funds and oversee reconciliation of federal financial aid funds and completion of the FISAP.
Manage the accounting for the University’s endowments, charitable gift annuities, unitrusts and investments.
Maintain relationships with the University’s banks, external audit firm, investment advisors and other outside parties.
Complete miscellaneous surveys and compliance reports.
Maintain knowledge of regulations affecting accounting procedures and policies, including not-for-profit.
Work closely with the Chief Business Officer and Vice President for Finance on special projects as directed.
Serve on committees or other University initiatives as directed.

Secondary Job Functions
Attend and participate in Board of Trustee meetings specifically Investment, Audit, Institutional Vitality Committee, and Investment Sub-Committee meetings.
Support the University’s mission and strategic initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
CPA or MBA highly preferred
Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other ERP systems preferred
Minimum five years of general accounting and supervisory experience preferred.
Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Self-directed, well organized and detail oriented with the ability to work quickly and efficiently during frequent interruptions.
Able to multitask and coordinate multiple office activities simultaneously while completing assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
Exercise discretion regarding confidential College information.
Consistently present a positive attitude and contribute to a harmonious team environment.
Able to work extended hours to meet occasional seasonal demands of the office.
Work schedule: This is a full time, exempt position. Forty (40) hours per week (8:00 am-5:00 pm) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the University, additional hours or occasional workday schedule changes may be required.
