Job Summary
The Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Aid position is responsible for managing and leading the coordinated delivery of financial aid services for all Troy University campuses and locations; working with the Student Services staff and academic leadership to maximize current resources and increase future financial aid resources; monitoring and advising university leadership on financial aid policies and issues; and developing a service-oriented financial aid access and delivery system to meet the present and future needs of the university.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participating in the design and implementation of student information systems related to financial aid to meet the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students at multiple locations.
- Balancing institutional policies in accordance with the individual needs of students, and articulating a vision for the financial aid offices that promotes the concept of effective service to all constituencies.
- Developing institutional financial aid processes to support policies that maximize enrollments and minimize student loan debt and keep institutional default rate within Federal parameters.
- Developing and marketing creative funding strategies in the recruitment and retention of students.
- Working closely and collaboratively with both system-wide and on-site academic and administrative leadership.
- Managing student financial assistance audits and maintenance of required documentation for all program participation.
- Supervising the management and coordination of a system financial aid database, file transfers, batch processes, and student loan management and counseling services.
- Obtaining and updating Title IV Eligibility and Participation Agreement listing all campuses and teaching sites throughout Troy University.
- Building staff efficiencies to maximize the effort in financial aid delivery to students.
- Understanding and commitment to the NCAA compliance process for student athletes and assisting with implementing these requirements in the areas of financial aid, admissions, etc.
- Developing and managing a coordinated financial aid policy handbook.
- Understanding VA compliance and delivery of benefits to eligible students
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related area
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in Financial Aid
