Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Associate Bursar for Auxiliary Services (FA087) in Cashiering and Student Accounts. The successful candidate will lead the auxiliary services (Lancer Card Center and Parking Administration) function of the Bursar’s office as well as manage all aspects of student and third party refunds, and will be responsible for other duties as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage Lancer Card Center
- Oversee Lancer Cash process including promotion, sales, and vendor services
- Maintain Lancer card policies and educate campus of policies
- When necessary create, issue, distribute, and activate Lancer Cards for students, faculty/staff and contractors
Manage Parking Administrative Services
- Develop parking reports and evaluate data
- Maintain parking policy and educate campus of policies
- Manage the permit process (creation, sales, distribution)
- Retain student parking data in the AIMS parking software
Manage Student and Third-Party Refund Services
- Coordinate cash handling services and fiscal reconciliations for auxiliary services
- Coordinate refund calendar with other campus departments and schedule all process changes relating to student refund processes
- Continuously improve refunding processes for all areas of the department to ensure all refunds are processed timely and accurately and within university, state, and federal policy
- Serve as the customer service coordinator for Cashiering, Student Accounts, and all student Auxiliary Services
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred, or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience and/or training
- Experience supervising, coaching and developing performance plans for staff
- Strong understanding of cash handling and accounting principles
- Strong customer service background
- Demonstrated strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven track record of professional conduct
Preferred Experience:
- Work experience with ID card process and systems
- Experience with marketing, sales, and working with vendors
- Experience administering and communicating policies
- Experience working in higher education and with financial aid
