OPERATIONS COORDINATOR, Student Financial Services (SFS), to support the operations team within SFS, specifically student accounts and financial aid delivery.  Will assist the team with the processing and reconciliation of daily cashiering and deposits received at SFS and provide customer service support for specific student questions related to financial aid, student accounts, MIT Education Loans, and collections-related activities. Administrative and operational support will include providing support and backup for critical functions for the SFS operations and delivery teams.  Will also serve as the lead on the Institute’s MIT Education Loan program, including approving applications, collecting promissory notes and associated disclosures, posting monthly payments, and working with employees who change status and/or separate from the Institute to monitor collections.  

bachelor’s degree in a related field; at least three years of student financial services experience at a higher education institution; excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; a focus on process improvement and analysis; proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues; discretion and judgment with confidential personal and financial information; willingness and ability to develop thorough understanding of multiple systems and processes, knowledge of the Institute, and federal and state rules and regulations; awareness of cultural diversity and ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds; and ability to find resolutions for complex problems with varied stakeholders, set work priorities, and successfully balance workload in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. 

This position is hybrid, with a blend of remote and on-campus work.
