Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for a variety of advanced technical and professional accounting duties. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares financial reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Compiles and analyzes financial information used to prepare and review general ledger entries
- Prepares a variety of detailed financial, accounting, and statistical statements and workpapers
- Analyzes financial information and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected district financial position
- Reviews and analyzes financial statements for accuracy
- Audits, analyzes, and reconciles a variety of accounting, financial, and statistical files and ledgers; identifies and resolves discrepancies and corrects errors
- Establishes, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
- Performs various accounting related responsibilities, including recording revenues and expenditures, preparing reconciliations, assisting with the annual audit, internal and external reporting
- Assists the Executive Director of Finance & Administrative Services with the preparation of the annual comprehensive financial report
- Assumes lead roll over clerical and technical staff in the absence of the Director
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Director of Accounting

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five (5) years’ progressive working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Master’s degree
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience leading teams
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Knowledge of college and university accounting principles, State and Federal grant reporting
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Skilled using computerized accounting applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
