The Center for Social Science Scholarship (CS3) supports and strengthens social science research, teaching, and community and professional engagement and enhances the future of innovative, collaborative, cross- and interdisciplinary, and cutting-edge social science scholarship at UMBC. We are seeking motivated, ambitious, innovative individuals to join our dynamic Research Administration Division (RAD) as we embark on the next phase of our research journey, in which we will strive to achieve even greater heights in the research community.
CS3’s Research Administration Division (RAD) consists of a team of 8 employees. The team assists faculty in obtaining funding for research and provides pre- and post-award administration. Research administrators are essential to research success within CAHSS and UMBC as a whole. The research administrator is responsible for managing a portion of our current award portfolio which consists of 51 sponsored awards valued at approximately $15,000,000 and supervision of support staff.
Responsibilities: The Manager of Research Administration will support CAHSS faculty by providing pre- and post-award administration of sponsored projects. The manager will oversee sponsored projects including proposal development and submission, project monitoring, project administration (budget and finance), coordination and support.
Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or a related field and three years of research administration experience.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree in Business, Finance or a related field, four years of research administration experience, especially with NIH proposals and awards, experience in higher education, supervisory experience, ability to work with PeopleSoft Financial and Human Resources and Kuali and CRA or research-related certification.
This is a full-time, regular, exempt position.
