The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for generating accurate data in support of all student and non-student billing and collection activities for the University of Maine. Provides support for programs, reporting and related procedures for the Office of the Student Business Services (OSBS) and Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA). Responsible for the setup and continued maintenance of the student financials and non-student accounts receivable modules within the University’s student information system (Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Financials). Supports OSBS staff in the development and continuous support of business processes. Responsible for major reporting requirements as well as daily office reporting and data needs. Must maintain effective working relationships with many offices on campus including but not limited to VPFA, Financial Aid, Student Records, Enrollment Management, and Information Technology. Typical hiring range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Typically has the education associated with a Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of academic and directly related professional work experience.
Strong knowledge of relational database design, the ability to read and understand data dictionaries, the ability to infer the relationship of the tables to the application and the process.
Demonstrated programming experience using PeopleTools Query, Discoverer, SQL and/or SQR.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, & communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
