Reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of balances and accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Reconciliation and analysis of various operating ledger accounts to ensure proper budgeting and reporting for the overall health of the University
Responsible for general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation
Prepare various internal and external financial reports and analyses
Prepare work papers for annual external audit
Apply all internal and external policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with internal and external (federal, state, and other agencies) regulatory guidance
Ability to evaluate and apply generally accepted accounting principles
Research, review and resolve unusual variances with minimal supervision
Serve as liaison between the controller's office and financial managers across the university campus
Conduct training with University personnel on accounting procedures
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with appropriate experience
Demonstrated knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles; prior accounting job experience a plus; grant experience a plus
Demonstrated use of a computerized accounting system; prior experience with reconciling and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts a plus
Must be PC proficient with strong experience using Excel, Word and Access
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience and understanding of customer service
