Minnesota North College is seeking to fill the permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) position of Budget and Report Analyst (Accounting Officer Senior).
The Budget and Report Analyst will provide support to financial services at Minnesota North College specifically in budget development, reporting, management and training. Under limited supervision this position will assist in the preparation of the annual and biennial operating budgets, biennial capital budgets, regular and ad-hoc budget reporting and other necessary financial functions. This position requires the strong attention to detail, the ability to analyze, research and recommend solutions to complex situations.
Work Location: This position may be located at one of the following campuses: Itasca, Hibbing, or Mesabi Range-Virginia
Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications
Professional knowledge and understanding of development and management of annual and biennial budgets, accounting principles and standards, and fund accounting.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to make decisions within minimal supervision.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and other appropriate software/database programs. Computer skills are sufficient to prepare and revise documents in multiple formats including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate college policies and procedures to employees.
Ability to interact with constituents in a manner conducive to promoting collaboration, cooperation, and effective working relationships. Human relation skills are essential in this position.
Ability to create queries, gather, analyze, interpret, and report financial data and ad-hoc reports.
Attention to detail and accuracy in transmitting information/data.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the functions, procedures, organization and governing laws and regulations governing Minnesota North College, MinnState and State of Minnesota.
Experience with financial systems.
Expertise with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerBI.
Working knowledge of MinnState financial processes and guidelines.
