About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Student Financial Services (SFS) team as an Associate Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. As an Associate Director, you will report to and work under the direction of the Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Student Financial Services complies with federal, state, and institutional policies.
To achieve this, you will research, develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures, as well as organize and deliver a comprehensive training program for SFS employees. You will also conduct internal audits to ensure quality control of Title IV processes and manage a compliance calendar to ensure adherence to regulatory and reporting deadlines.
We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You should be a self-starter who can establish plans, manage timelines, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
To be successful in this role, you must possess an astute ability to interpret, apply, and communicate federal and state law and regulation. You should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with others across the organization to achieve common goals.
This position is based in Boston, MA and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and maintains SFS policies and procedures manuals.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all Federal Title IV, state, and University regulations and laws.
Develops internal communications and memos to keep staff informed of regulatory changes.
Organizes and delivers internal training program across all SFS service areas, to both onboard new staff and retrain all staff on a regular cadence.
Engages in training outside the SFS unit with other key stakeholders.
Conducts internal audits and presents results and reports to functional areas and SFS leadership.
Informs the Director of Compliance and Dean of SFS of any issues that may compromise compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
Participates in federal and state on-site audit visits and assists with any corrective actions.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
Three to five years of experience in federal student aid programs, or compliance, audit, and training
Knowledge of Title IV regulations and operations
Experience with Banner or other large-scale systems in financial aid, student accounts, and work-study operations preferred
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong research and analytical skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proactive work style and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Commitment to Student Financial Services' mission of promoting financial literacy and delivering highly accessible services
Understanding of the integrated nature of enrollment management functions and ability to work in a coordinated team environment
