University of Kentucky Internal Audit (UKIA) assists university management, administration, and the Board of Trustees in the effective discharge of their fiduciary and administrative responsibilities by providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services with respect to evaluating risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. By monitoring areas of potential vulnerability and pursuing preventive measures, we assist all members of the university community to comply with policies and procedures and uphold the highest standards of business conduct.
Responsibilities will include:
collaboration with a team of auditors to understand client's business and organizational practices
participate on audits in the field
research, read, review, and interpret federal and state regulations applicable to projects
note-taking to support client interviews
analyze business documentation, reports, and data
develop workflows of business processes and assist in identifying areas of opportunity
enter and verify data
participate in team meetings
initiate and perform cursory review of audit documents in the audit management system
support the development of auditor trainings and participate in all trainings
additional projects/tasks as assigned.
