POSITION DETAILS
The Office of Internal Audit and Management Services (OIAMS) reports to the University Chancellor and to the Board of Trustees??? Audit Committee, and assists University management and it???s constituent units by providing objective management analyses through the performance of compliance and quality assurance appraisals; ensures that the University???s resources are safeguarded against loss due to waste, fraud, or abuse; ensures the University???s compliance with applicable laws and regulations; coordinates and prepares responses to Federal, State and City audit reports of programs administered by the University and its??? colleges; and participates in special investigations of alleged irregularities or improper practices and assists in any subsequent adjudication. Reporting to the Executive Director of Internal Audit, the Auditor for Information Technology proactively manages detailed operational, compliance, financial and investigative evaluations, and performs internal control and audit reviews of information technology across the 25 university campuses.
Other responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Manages, performs, and reviews internal control and audit, including on-campus and off-site field audits and compliance reviews focusing on financial and computer information systems, including the data center, LAN (local area network) and application security reviews.
Consults and advises administrators, faculty, and staff on computer information systems operational issues to increase control awareness, manage risks, improve processes, reduce costs, facilitate change, and promote best practices.
Partners with external auditors, administrators, faculty, staff, and law enforcement officials as appropriate, and may be required to testify in court.
Participates in training other audit staff in the use of computerized audit techniques, and in developing methods for review and analysis of computerized information systems.
Develops and maintains audit software programs and keeps current knowledge of relevant state-of the art technologies, equipment, and systems.
Supervises Staff Auditor.
Note - Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work on-site in the office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred knowledge, experience, competencies, and attributes:
CPA, CISA or CIA Certification preferred.
Six years' internal or external auditing experience in large complex private or public sector organization.
Knowledge of CUNY colleges' operations and procedures.
Strong computer and financial information systems skills, including extensive knowledge of technology hardware and software platforms.
Effective organizational and project management skills with ability to set plans, manage a variedworkload with conflicting priorities in a dynamic office.
Effective interpersonal an written and oral and communication skills plus strong negotiation,consultation, supervision, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
Strong analytical, evaluative, and research skills, with the ability to produce results as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish plans, manage a large workload and multiple assignments with conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Detail oriented and accurate with sound judgment, critical analysis, and decision-making skills

Performs objective and broad internal audits, examinations and evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of campus and university financial and operating procedures, with an emphasis on financial and information systems.
Develops, plans, and conducts field audits and compliance reviews of adherence to accepted standards and fiscal requirements
Develops and implements guidelines/standards of performance for internal control reviews
Assists College and University departments in developing and documenting policies and practices in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and statutes
Participates in the development of self-evaluation audits
Reports audit findings and makes recommendations on corrective actions
Identifies potential financial and information system areas for inclusion in the annual audit plan
Acts as liaison with college and university officials in establishing internal control procedures
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range: $96,602 - $117,805. Salary commensurate with education, qualifications and experience.
